Soapstone

Composed primarily of talc with varying amounts of other minerals, soapstone exhibits a smooth, non-porous surface and a color palette ranging from black, gray, to green, often adorned with subtle veining.
Renowned for its natural stain and heat resistance, soapstone is also low maintenance and minor imperfections can be easily addressed. To create a dark patina, a mineral oil can be applied to your soapstone countertops.
Its Mohs hardness typically falls between 1 to 4.
